The history of Cambodia started with the Funan Kingdom, which was during the first century BC. It is lead to believe that the kingdom was strongly affected by Indian culture that help chisel the political, culture and art custom. The architectural and religions were influenced by Indian donations to the Funan Kingdom. There is indication that a community in the Mekong Delta benefited during the first to sixth centuries.
The economy of Cambodia is very poor but has seen increases in wealth in the last decade. Most of Cambodia’s economy comes from agriculture and on a lower end manufacturing. During 1997 to 1998 Cambodia’s economy took a hit with political infighting and civil violence.
The best time to travel to Cambodia is between the months of November to February. The temperature during these months is cooler with less humidity making it more comfortable for travel. Cambodia is affected by the monsoons and many travelers try to avoid the hot rainy season.
